The Eagle has landed!

We arrived safely at LAX after an uneventful trip.  V Australia is an excellent airline, and the entertainment was awesome!  I think the fact that we had video on demand, music, tv shows and games meant the kids didn't really want to sleep.  The iPods and DS games remained untouched.  The kids finally got to sleep about an hour before breakfast arrived.  It was awful to have to wake them up!

There were no problems getting through Immigration, and Wally will be happy to know that the U.S. Government does not have Joe's photo or fingerprints on file.  Apparently he's too young to worry about.  Sofie and I were sadly fingerprinted like criminals and stood for our mugshots.  Customs were not even remotely interested in our bag of snakes.

Straight out to the Super Shuttle and driven out to Anaheim.  Scared me silly - the driver drove at over 70 miles an hour down packed freeways (6 lanes each way).  I had visions of headlines "5 Aussies dead in horror freeway smash in LA"...

Got into our room straight away which was awesome.  Check in isn't until 3pm, but we were in our room at 10am.  Gotta love that!  We crashed until 4.30-ish.  The room has 2 double beds, so guess who's sharing with mummy??  Gotta love Joe.  Poor kid fell asleep in the bus on the way here.

Woke up and wandered down the street past Maccas, IHOP and then to our destination Denny's!  Joe had spaghetti, Sofie had BBQ chicken with corn and cheesy mashed potato and I had chicken strips with hash browns.  I love American hash browns so much.  Just grated fried potato.  Not like the formed things you buy in Australia.  And really thick, really chocolately thickshakes.  Joe had a strawberry sundae for dessert and declared it the best sundae he had ever had.  His pasta was also good, but only the third best after Nonna's and mine.

Tomorrow morning the kids have said IHOP for brekky, but I don't think that we'll get there in time.  Because tomorrow the fun starts!

Our bus arrives at 08.30am and takes us to Universal Studios!  Woohoo!

Right now the kids are playing basketball with an ice bucket and paper balls while they watch Family Guy on TV.

Here's hoping they get to sleep at some point tonight so they are wide awake and ready for a big day tomorrow!

Joe waiting for the bus!

here it is.  And why yes, we do need a lift!

Sofie learns how to use crayons and colour in the Denny's kids menu.

My beautiful babies and their dinner.

So until tomorrow, that's all there is to say.  gotta run to see if I can catch the fireworks at Disneyland across the road!  Bye all!
